Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose RehabOnline?

Our Online Rehab Program is the most cost effective path to recovery based on inpatient treatment that is delivered by experienced counsellors and therapists.

What equipment do I need to get started?

You will just need access to either a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet access and a camera.

How can I fit the treatment modules in around my commitments?

Our Online Rehab Program does require a time commitment from you, both in terms of attending the scheduled sessions and completing the assignment work. We do however try to be as flexible as possible and because we run several groups a day, we can usually meet your needs.

Is my treatment at RehabOnline confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is both guaranteed and a priority. One of the reasons that clients choose to join our program is because of the added confidentiality that we provide compared to a physical rehab centre. From the moment you first enquire, through the treatment program and beyond, we protect your identity and communications at every step. The video sessions are secured and encrypted as well as your details. You also have the option to only use a nickname and not provide information of your location.

Can anyone else see me when I’m in a group session?

To replicate as closely as possible the process of a physical therapeutic group, you will be seen by the other clients in your group and your Rehab Online counsellor. Our clients often develop close bonds through their shared experiences in group sessions, and of course, your counsellor needs to get to know you and vice-versa. These real connections are only possible if your group can all see each other. However if you have a strong reason to not be seen during our group sessions our technology allows you to participate without being seen.

Do I have to use my real name in group sessions?

You can simply use your first name or nickname during the group sessions.

How do you make sure no one else sees my video sessions?

Video sessions are on an invitation basis i.e participants can only be invited by the counsellor.

How do you make sure I don’t know other people in my group sessions?

Our clients come from all over the world and one of the advantages of treatment online is we can avoid putting clients who live near each other in the same group. If we believe that clients may know each other for any reason, we will assign them to different groups.

Can someone else be in the room when I’m doing a group session?

Both we and you have a responsibility to keep confidential what you see and hear in group. Therefore we request that you be alone when participating in a group with our other clients. Failing to do so might require the counsellors to stop your participation in the group sessions. During your individual therapy sessions, we may judge that family participation may be beneficial and would allow another family member in the room for purposes of treatment.

Where are your counsellors from?

Most of our counsellors are Australian, British or American trained. All hold relevant accreditation/professional degrees ranging from BACP, FDAP, LSCW and MFT.

How long does it take?

Our Online Rehab Program is 30 or 60 days. There are also extended treatment options and modules including the Aftercare Program which can be used to further embed your gains over a more relaxed schedule.
